Ah a good one, I guess it’s a little bit frustrating when religion chooses to disregard facts. There’s always some level of uncertainty but things like evolution are so well documented (we’ve even seen bacteria evolve in the lab, and have frozen them down so that we can show exactly when things have changed!) that it’s a shame that some people just straight up don’t believe it.
Like a lot of things though, the thing I really love about science is that people will disagree about things, especially the really new stuff, but they always do this from actual tests and results that aim to disprove other options.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about what they believe but I do find it a little frustrating that some people choose not to believe scientific facts or just don’t want to know! You can never please EVERYONE though so as long as people choose to believe what makes them happy, I’m happy 🙂
I remember my Physics teacher saying that science can only answer questions to a certain point, and when we reach the point where we cannot find the answer, that is where religion takes over. A bit like the age-old question of what came first, the chicken or the egg? During evolution when we all came from a single cell, how do we prove whether the egg or the chicken was born first? These are all really deep questions, and not something that I can find the answers to during my lunch break 🙂
