We need protein for every single cell in our body- in fact, everything in our body is made up of proteins which are produced from our DNA. Proteins are made from lots of individual amino acids and our bodies can make most of it’s own protein but some need to be obtained from our diet. The protein that we eat in our diet from meat, milk, eggs for instance, are broken down into amino acids in our stomachs and these are then absorbed in our blood.
