This isn’t really my subject area but I’ll have a go! Recycling is very important for the future as you probably know that the landfill sites are getting too full. I suppose to make recycling easier, people need to be given all the information and help to recycle as much as they possibly can. Maybe you have different bins for different waste at home? I know that happens in some parts of the country and that would certainly make things easier – but only if you are given help and correct information as to what goes in what bin! I’m sure I heard that in the USA, they have started tagging bins with little microchips that can tell if you put your recycle bin out for collection or not….if you haven’t then they come and look through your other rubbish for things that could have been recycled! Also, I think that in some places, all food waste has to put put in a separate bin to be “composted” which means it can then be used as nutrients for plants to grow.
It is certainly not easy to get people to change their habits, but I think that greater access to information and equipment may help!
