Haha, thank you, I’m glad you like my work. I hope you find it as interesting as I do!

Why should you vote for me? This is a hard question – I’m not sure actually! haha! I hope I will answer all your questions (if I can!!) so just vote for me if you like my answers and they type of work I do! I’m just here to show you what it is like to be a scientist and the fun you can have. I was very shy at school and didn’t ever have the chance to talk to anybody about their work or what they do as a job so I’m just glad to be able to be here to talk to all you guys 🙂

I think it is more difficult to find reasons as to why shouldn’t you vote for me?

Haha! Don’t worry, I’m only joking….I am not that vain!

You should vote for me because I think science is cool and I hope that I can try and convince you of that too! When I was at school I didn’t really think I liked science that much. I took the subject at GCSE then A level because it was more interesting than reading Shakespeare!!! It wasn’t until I started Biology at A level when I was learning about the body and how it worked that I realised just how cool it was. We all know we have a heart and need it to stay alive, but learning how it does this was fun! As was learning all the names of the bones in our body with a life-sized skeleton. Then when I went to university I found it fascinating to understand how drugs work. I always wanted to know how a little paracetamol tablet knows to travel straight to that pain in your head and relieve the headache after a couple of hours! So I have ended up working as a scientist because I have always wanted to know “why” and I continue to learn new things everyday. But now it is not like being at school because I don’t have to sit exams 🙂

I hope that speaking to all the scientists on here will inspire you to continue to ask questions as that is the sign of a great scientist! And maybe one day you will be in our position answering all the difficult questions other school children are asking!

Why should you vote for me? If I say the word “physics” what do most people think of – Einstein? Relativity? The Big Bang Theory TV show? Brian Cox?

I’m here to try and convince you that physics is not all about the above things. Like Melissa mentioned, learning about the body at school was fascinating – so when I learned you could combine this with physics, I was pretty excited!

Hopefully I will be able to answer your questions and provide you all with a better understanding of how you can combine various science subjects and see the fascinating results.

If I was lucky enough to win, then I have a number of exciting demonstrations to show you that science really is fun!!!

I hope you will vote for me because you find my answers interesting. That’s why I did medicine and science – it’s endlessly fascinating.

Brilliant, I hope that you’d vote for whoever is best at communicating science I guess. Or maybe just me so I could win? 😛
