I guess the simple answer is to have less excess calories. That means using up more calories (exercising more), eating less, or both. From memory studies have shown that it’s only the pure calories that are important, with most diets that you’re allowed to eat one type of food like the atkins diet, you just get bored of eating it so you end up eating less.
All in all I guess it’s too tempting nowadays to be able to eat whatever we want! I’m terrible with biscuits!
I would say exercise. Find a way to incorporate exercise into your daily routine – not where you have to make the effort to do the exercise – but where if you don’t exercise bad things will happen. For example I gave up driving to work 6 years ago (14 miles each way) and I now cycle. It was hard at first; got knocked off once in the first 6 months, but I burn c. 1200 calories a day doing that on its own, which means…. I can and DO eat almost as much as I want.
True, it does not make you poop. I doesn’t do much to your lungs but because its lighter than air it makes your vocal cords vibrate faster so you have a high pitched voice!
