      I guess it depends on the drugs your talking about. For instance alcohol is probably worse than quite a few illegal drugs, but previous attempts to make alcohol illegal haven’t worked.

      The main reason that drugs can be bad is that they essentially mess around with the way your mind works, they can make you addicted to them (caffeine is also a drug and really addictive) by making you need them to feel good. They also can make parts of your brain work in ways that they shouldn’t which is why marijuana is thought to cause psychological disorders if you smoke/eat it when you’re young.

      Coming back to alcohol, the other impact of drugs is that you can do things that you normally wouldn’t do, which is why so many deaths are caused by alcohol – people can’t control themselves, or do violent/dangerous things.
