• Question: why are elephants so intelligent?

      I’m not too sure….. Maybe it’s because they are so big and have big brains to match?! 😉

      The structure of the elephants brain is also very similar to humans- it has lots of folds on its surface which means there is more surface area for neurones (or the brain cells)

      Also elephants are social animals, which is the main reason why we are so smart! Turns out if you want to co-operate and also have a hierarchy, enemies and subtle relationships then you need to be smarter! I’d imagine that the reason why elephants are social is because they’re so big, they’d be a walking meal if one was on it’s own, but if they stay together then it takes a lot of guts to try something!
